So how can the Squires Student Center make your college experience better? Squires Student Center not only provides many facility options, but we also provide services such as customer service, food vendors, recreation centers, locker rentals, banking options, and access to the Internet.

Information Services

The Information Services Center in Squires Student Center is staffed with knowledgeable students and full-time employees who are ready to answer questions about Student Centers and Activities, the university, and the surrounding community. The Information Services Center is where you can learn more about events, get maps, or look for lost and found articles.

Our information services center houses an extensive selection of information, some of which is available in brochure form located to the left of the desk in our pamphlet holders. The rest is found through our attentive information staff.

The information services center houses the largest lost and found on campus. If you have lost something around campus, there is a good chance it has made its way to us. Come by during Squires building hours to inquire about lost and found items.

We also are responsible for all meeting room keys. If you have booked an event through our Event Planning office you will need to come by our front desk to sign in and pick up a key.

We also offer practice rooms to those who are interested in honing their skills. Our practice rooms are equipped with pianos or keyboards to aid you in your practice.

The information services center is also a hub for the operation services, which is responsible for providing most equipment used in our meeting rooms and at events around campus. For outdoor tables and chairs, contact Event Planning and we will do the rest.

Banking

The Freedom First Credit Union operates two facilities in Squires Student Center. They also have two ATMs at Squires (1 inside and 1 outside) and one at Johnston Student Center for convenience. There are also Wachovia and Sun Trust ATMs in Squires.

Freedom First Credit Union

Complete banking services are available to students, faculty, and staff in the Freedom First Credit Union (formerly, "Credit Union of Virginia Tech"), located on the first floor of Squires. The Freedom First Credit Union specializes in student loans and provides all other banking services. Just want to make a deposit, withdrawal, or cash a check? Save time at the Freedom First Credit Union Express Service Center, also located on the first floor (across from the Ticket Office on the east side of the building).

Food

Squires Student Center has a food court where patrons may relax and have a bite to eat. Squires’ Food Court has seating for 300 people. Squires Student Center features Sbarro, Au Bon Pain cafè, and Au Bon Pain kiosk.

Locker Rentals

Bowling and billiard lockers may be rented for the semester in the BreakZONE recreation area in Squires. Go to the BreakZONE control desk to rent one.
